Memo Text

At its July 11, 2019, meeting, the Arkansas State Board of Education adopted the School Superintendent Assessment (6991) with a cut score of 157 to replace the current SSA (6021) effective September 1, 2020.  The SSA (6021) will remain the district level licensure assessment until this date.  The September 1, 2020, start date is to allow administrator preparation programs at Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) to update their programs of study.

On April 17, 2019, in Little Rock, a representative from Educational Testing Service (ETS) and the Department facilitated a state review of the new SSA (6991). Arkansas administrator preparation faculty and public school administrators reviewed a copy of the 6991 as well as data from a multi-state standard setting study. The consensus from state review participants was to recommend a cut score of 157.
