                                                                  Educator Licensure Testing Options

 

Arkansas Testing Centers

 

Most testing centers in Arkansas are currently closed with re-opening dates planned for the upcoming

weeks or months. Several universities have test centers open but with limited seating and options. All

stand-alone Prometric test centers (Praxis®/School Leadership Series tests) are closed through May 31,

2020. Pearson VUE sites (Arkansas Foundations of Reading) opened May 1, 2020, as local guidance

permits.

Praxis®  Test at Home Solution

 

In response to test centers being closed due to the COVID-19 situation, Educational Testing Services is

launching the Praxis®  test at home in mid-May. Information will be available on the ETS website

beginning May 15 at https://www.ets.org/praxis.

 

Information includes:

  • ·      Multiple security measures that use both live remote proctors for real-time human monitoring and artificial intelligence technology from ProctorU®, an online proctoring site
  • ·       A convenient and safe option for testing at home while test centers are closed due to the coronavirus
  • ·       Computer equipment checklist for the test taker to use prior to registration
  • ·       Praxis® at Home website and test registration available May 15, 2020
  • ·       First test application date May 18, 2020
  • ·       Same scoring criteria, scoring process, and score scale, so scores can be accepted and used in the same way
  • ·       Same price to test takers as testing in a center
  • ·       Same test-taker friendly features, such as the ability to skip questions within a section, go back and change answers, and use an on-screen calculator

·       Highest volume of tests in first batch (top 30) available May 18, 2020, to include:

  • o   All Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (5001) sub tests
  • o   All Praxis® Core tests
  • o   Math: Content Knowledge (5161)
  • o   Middle School Mathematics (5169)
  • o   Special Education: Core Knowledge & Applications (5354)
  • Second batch (16 titles) available June 1, 2020, to include:
  • o   Professional School Counselor (5421)
  • o   Middle School English Language Arts (5047)
  • o   Middle School Science (5440)
  • o   Social Studies: Content and Interpretation (5086)
  • o   Physical Education: Content and Design (5095)
  • o   Computer Science (5652)
  • o   School Leaders Licensure Assessment (6990)
  •  
  • Identical in content, format, and on-screen experience to the version taken at a test center
