Memo Text

Assessment results for the 2019-2020 school year will not follow historical publication schedules due to the COVID-19 disruption. Scores for students, who completed the Grade 11 ACT® during spring 2020 and who participated in the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) assessment throughout embedded windows in 2019-2020, will be made available through respective online administrative platforms. District Test Coordinators (DTCs) and other district users granted permission by DTCs may begin accessing the data through each platform when it becomes available. DESE will not post the aforesaid results on the DESE Assessment webpage. There will be no summative scores for ACT Aspire because students did not complete summative testing.

ELPA21 scores have been released to districts through the AIRWays reporting platform.  Only fall and winter results are available for K-2 assessments.  These scores can be accessed through the respective administrative platforms linked below.  Please contact your DTC for questions about platform permissions.

A Note About Making Inferences from 2020 Scores for the Grade 11 ACT

In prior years, all students were tested within the same testing window for the Grade 11 ACT. The results were considered to be complete for the full population of Grade 11 students and supported inferences for comparing aggregate scores at the state and local level across multiple years.

In 2020, a portion of Grade 11 students were not tested in the spring testing window because of the COVID-19 disruption. These students will test during fall 2020. The files and results available for the spring Grade 11 ACT do not represent the complete Arkansas Grade 11 population, and the level of representativeness at the school and district may vary depending upon which students were tested in spring 2020 and which students remain to be tested in fall 2020.

Any aggregate score reports available for spring 2020 via the administrative platform may be impacted by the absence of scores from those that will be available after the fall 2020 make-up testing window.  Thus, it is important to recognize the limitations of the aggregate data in generalizing to the full population of Grade 11 students within your school and/or district and across Arkansas. These cautions apply to aggregate reports only; the student-level score reports are not impacted by the absence of scores from other Grade 11 students in Arkansas. In addition, scores from the fall make-up window should be considered within the context of the COVID-19 disruption.

Note: All assessment reports contain personally identifiable student information and should be handled with caution per FERPA regulations.  The ADE: DESE advises that any Student Performance Files be secured and password protected.
