In collaboration with T-Mobile, we are excited to announce Project 10Million! Project 10Million is an effort, initiated by T-Mobile, to reduce the internet barrier in homes that may impact a child's education. To help close the homework gap, T-Mobile is providing Arkansas schools with ~18,000 hotspots for students qualifying for free/reduced lunch at no cost. Each hotspot includes 100GB of data per year and service for 5 years.

Interested districts must complete the attached application (attachment: Project10Million_Application). Each application should be submitted via email to Andrea Chambers (Andrea.R.Chambers@1millionproject.org) and Cc Jeff Killingsworth (Jeff.Killingsworth@arkansas.gov). The application window will close on October 16, 2020. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. Once DESE & T-Mobile have determined the number of interested districts, allocation will be determined based on the number of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch and the number of hotspot units available.

Before a district submits their application, special consideration should be given to how these units will be utilized, given the 100GB available per device. As part of Project 10Million, T-Mobile is offering special rates to supplement what is being offered for free (attachment: Project10Million_PromoRates). Districts should contact Andrea Chambers (Andrea.R.Chambers@1millionproject.org) to take part in or inquire more about these promotional rates. Districts engaging in the T-Mobile promotional rates, extending beyond what is being provided free of charge, are responsible for any additional charges.
