Memo Text

As recommended by the Advisory Committee on Public School Academic Facilities, and accepted by the Commission for Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation, the Division of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation (Division) is creating two (2) Statewide Needs Lists:

  1. Statewide Space/Growth Needs List
  2. Statewide Warm, Safe, and Dry Needs List

These two Needs Lists will be ranked in order of greatest need to least need, will be used to assist school districts with project development, and will be used as a determining factor in the ranking of Partnership projects for the 2023-2025 Partnership cycle.

In order to create the most accurate Statewide Needs Lists possible, each school district must thoroughly update their data in the Webtool and ensure that all data is accurate and correct.  This data includes all buildings on each campus, including ‘additions or original buildings’, age of buildings, gross square feet of buildings, and building use, including whether a building is underutilized or unused.  The condition assessment for each building/addition must be accurately completed.  .

School districts have until close of business on December 31, 2020, to update their data in the Webtool.  After December 31, 2020, the Division will compile the Statewide Needs Lists based on the data that each school district entered in the Webtool.

The two (2) Statewide Needs Lists will be published approximately January of 2021.

The Division encourages school district superintendents to be involved with all updates and submittals, and to know the Division is here to provide support as needed.
