At its February 2021 meeting, the State Board of Education adopted the Praxis® Reading Specialist (5302) with a cut score of 160 as the content assessment for Reading Specialist (K-12) licensure. The 5302 replaces the Praxis® Reading Specialist (5301) effective September 1, 2021. According to Educational Testing Service (ETS), the content of the 5302 is based largely on the 2017 Standards for the Preparation of Literacy Professionals created by the International Literacy Association.
