Memo Text

It is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requirement that every serving/preparation site within the each school district has two health inspections performed by the Arkansas Department of Health every school year no later than June 30th

The number of health inspection performed within the school districts each year must be reported to the Arkansas Department of Education, Division of Elementary and Secondary Education, Child Nutrition Unit (DESE, CNU).  In previous years, the health inspection report was submitted as part of the annual agreement and policy statement.  However, this year the attached Health Inspection Report of 2020-2021 School Year Inspections will need to be completed and turned in separately.

If it is not possible for the health department to make two visits a year, Child Nutrition Directors are required to contact their health department within their county to prompt the completion of the two required inspections.

Please email the attached Health Inspection Report to ADE.CNU-A-PS@ade.arkansas.gov  no later than May 28, 2021.

If you have questions or need assistance with the Health Inspection Report, email your Area Specialist.
