2021 Arkansas Back to School Nurse Professional Development

When: August 12th, 2021
Time: 9:00 am to 12:40pm
According to Act 1089 of 2021, each
school district is required to have at least one licensed registered nurse
(employed or contracted) attend an annual professional development session provided
by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) related to
Arkansas school nursing mandates and practices. The 2021 Arkansas Back to
School Nurse Professional Development session will provide information on
childhood immunizations and COVID-19 vaccines for children and adults, school
nursing 2021 legislation, 2020-2021 school health survey data report, and school
nursing tools to support building resiliency among students and staff. See the attached agenda for additional
details.
This session offers licensed nurses
accredited continuing professional development by the Arkansas Department of Health
(ADH) according to the following official accreditation standards and
disclaimer statement:
Provider Approval Statement: Arkansas
Department of Health is approved as a provider of nursing continuing
professional development by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited
approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on
Accreditation.
The planning committee & faculty attest that
no relevant financial, professional, or personal conflict of interest exists,
nor was sponsorship of commercial support obtained, in the preparation or
presentation of this educational activity.
This continuing professional development activity
is jointly provided by the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) and the Arkansas
Department of Education (ADE).
Completion Requirements:
Participants must attend the entire virtual session and ensure the ADE/ADH is
able to verify each participant attended the full duration of the event. For participants attending in GROUPS OF TWO OR MORE, each
group must also register the group directly with the Co-op Community
Health Nurse Specialist (CHNS) prior to the day of the event to receive the
TRAIN sign-in sheet for the group. NO EXCEPTIONS ALLOWED.
Participants are
required to complete the post assessment evaluation within 7 days of attending the course in www.train.org.
If the evaluation is not completed, the participant will be withdrawn from the
course and will NOT
receive nursing contact hours.
