Allowable 1003 (SOF 6505) expenditures and requirements for 2021-2022

(If you still have unobligated 6508 funds, DO NOT proceed to the 2021-2022 application process)

  • A leadership team of five members from each 1003 school must attend Academy #4: "Acceleration to RTI-Multiple Systems of Support for All Students". This team should be comprised of the principal, a lead teacher, and three others that will make RTI decisions. This same team must attend all dates for this academy. Team members should put the following dates on their calendars as soon as possible:  Monday, November 8, and Tuesday, November 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. The third session will be a virtual meeting on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Two additional days will be added between February and April of 2022 at selected Educational Service Cooperatives. Details and dates will be forthcoming. Registration and workshop information will follow in an email soon.  Schools may use their 1003 funds to pay for any travel expenses related to this Academy.
  • Opportunity Culture School with Multi Classroom Leaders (MCL) model. There is state check in and guided support.
  • National Institute of Excellence in Teaching.
  • Writing Revolution      
    • Writing Revolution Training:  This one-pager that describes a professional development opportunity being offered first to your school districts.  If you are interested in sending teachers and administrators/specialists, please complete this form as soon as possible .   • Vendors providing job embedded coaching to meet culture, collaboration, effective instruction, and/or curriculum needs (webinars and on site).
  • Evidence of Tier 1-3 is required as deemed from the What Works Clearinghouse site. The “White Paper” of the evidence of their work must be uploaded in the 21-22 folder in Indistar.  A contract or outcomes of the contracted work will still be required on the RFP portion of the application in Indistar.

  2. Professional books for teachers and leadership support
  3. Evidence based PD Is also offered through an ERZ which are most often free
  • Funds may be used to purchase materials specifically to support the implementation of the Science of Reading - allowable materials are:
  1. Sound Wall Cards
  2. Decodable texts that meet guidance from RISE trainers
  • Guidance on Decodable Text Purchases

The 1003 application is due in Indistar by January 6, 2022.
