Arkansas Code Ann. § 6-42-109 established that “each school district shall report annually to the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), at a prescribed due date, the extent to which it is providing educational opportunities specifically designed to meet the educational needs of gifted and talented children.”
The annual Gifted and Talented Education Program Approval Application is an online form which must be submitted by October 15th. The description of gifted services reported in the program approval application is used by DESE to support districts in providing appropriate and challenging educational opportunities for gifted students.
