Memo Text

How often do we stop and celebrate the right work?  Join Dr. Tim Kanold virtually on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 8:30-11:30 as he discusses celebrations.  More details are listed below along with the link to register.

October 20 - Session #457386 Celebrating Success of the PLC Life with Tim Kanold (8:30-11:30)

School-site leaders – principals, assistant principals, guiding coalition team members, as well as central office program leaders and superintendents face the challenge of leading others forward into the PLC life. They overcome the adversity and obstacles that prevent full, ongoing, and sustained implementation of the PLC process in their programs, schools, or districts. In this interactive Zoom Seminar Timothy D. Kanold reveals how school district leaders, school site administrators, program leaders, and instructional coaches can become dynamic decision makers that others will want to follow. After participants identify primary barriers they currently face to the PLC life, Dr. Kanold provides direct and meaningful solutions for full implementation of the PLC process based on a clear understanding of what is “loose” and “tight” in a PLC at Work culture. Dr. Kanold indicates, “As we develop our PLC leadership life, we learn how to effectively monitor for the existence and the quality of the right research-affirmed work. He also highlights how to create and use a culture of celebration based on the “impact of the daily actions of others.”

Other learning opportunities in October to support schools in Professional Learning Community practices:

October 21 - Session #459131 Tier 2 of RTI @ Work with Mike Mattos (9:00-3:00)

Mike Mattos will present virtually on Response to Intervention over the course of 3 days. Each day will focus on one tier of RTI (level 1, 2, 3). Attendance at each session is suggested in order to receive the information for all three levels, but it is not required. Mike Mattos will design and present each session to be interactive and focus on our current needs across the state.

Tier 2 supplemental interventions that support students in a grade-level curriculum, immediate prerequisite skills, and academic and social behavior expectations.

October 26 - Session #459133 Tier 3 of RTI @ Work with Mike Mattos (9:00-3:00)

Tier 3 intensive interventions that develop foundational prerequisite academic skills and behaviors without removing students from the essential grade-level curriculum.

October 27 - Session #455384 All for One:  A Community of Singletons with Regina Owens (9:00-11:00)

Dr. Regina Stephens Owens shows how to use best practices in collaboration, and participants learn how to design action plans supporting the work of schools and singleton teachers in a PLC.
