Memo Text

The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education(DESE) is pleased to announce the 6th annual Educators Rising State Conference, formerly known as the Impacting Tomorrow Summit, will be hosted by UCA on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. The State Conference provides high school students interested in a career in education a high-quality, hands-on exploration of the teaching profession.

The State Conference is open to students and teachers with active national-level Educators Rising memberships. National Educators Rising membership is free for teacher leaders and $10 for student members. For information on memberships click here. If you are interested in establishing an Educators Rising Chapter, participating in the State Conference, or receiving funding for high school student memberships, contact Raven Harris, Educators Rising State Coordinator: Raven.Harris@ade.arkansas.gov.

Educators and Administrators who have questions around Educators Rising or the enrollment process may attend a virtual information session on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 4:00-4:30 PM.  No registration is required. Join the meeting using this link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89788928453

Educators Rising is a national career and technical education (CTE) student organization for aspiring teachers and their mentors. As an Educators Rising affiliate, DESE encourages all Arkansas educators who are leading a school-based program that helps young people explore the teaching profession— in secondary or post-secondary settings—to establish an Educators Rising chapter to connect students and teachers with peers and experts around the country who are focused on the same issues and challenges.

Educators Rising connects students with more than 48,000 members across the country, including more than 20,000 rising educators in 24 states and regions. Educators Rising is actively working to diversify the teaching profession with a student membership goal of 50% students of color.
