These grants focus on two areas of career and technical education: innovation and non-traditional careers. Information regarding the application criteria, application link, and timeline are provided below. Innovation Grant Application Who is Eligible to Apply? Education Cooperatives Consortia or single LEAs who are eligible for Perkins funds may apply that meet one of the following criteria: Rural Area; Areas with high percentage of CTE concentrators or CTE participants; Areas with high numbers of CTE concentrators or CTE participants; Areas with disparities or gaps in performance. What is an Innovation Grant? Foster innovation through the identification and promotion of promising and proven career and technical education programs, practices, and strategies, which may include programs, practices, and strategies that prepare individuals for nontraditional fields. Or promote the development, implementation, and adoption of programs of study or career pathways aligned with state-identified high-skills, high-wage, or in-demand occupations or industries. Grant Timeline Applications Open Friday, January 7, 2022 Deadline for Submissions Friday, January 28, 2022 Grant Awardees Notified Monday, February 14, 2022 Grant Funds MUST be Obligated No Later Than Monday, March 21, 2022 Grant Funds MUST be Expended No Later Than Monday, May 30, 2022 Non-Traditional Recruitment and Enrollment Grant Application Perkins V defines Non-Traditional Fields as, “ occupations or fields of work, such as careers in computer science, technology, and other current and emerging high-skill occupations, for which individuals from one gender comprised less than 25% of the individuals employed in each such occupation or field of work.” [Carl D.
