The University of Arkansas College of Engineering is seeking mathematics, computer science, and pre-engineering 9th to 12th grade teachers to join its 2nd cohort for its National Science Foundation funded teacher development program AR-DATA.
We had a successful 1st year with 10 participants who created engaging learning modules for their students. Their project information can be found at: https://ardata.uark.edu/example-projects/.
AR-DATA focuses directly on providing mathematics, computer science, and pre-engineering 9th to 12th grade teachers with transformative research experiences thematically centered on data analytics, especially engineering applications towards smart and connected health, infrastructure, and community. Teachers who choose to participate in the AR-DATA program will develop, implement, and disseminate analytics learning modules suitable for high school curriculum with direct connection to their required standards.
This year we will host a hybrid program. Teachers can choose to participate in person or virtually. Attached contains more information on the program, but you can learn more by going to https://ardata.uark.edu/. Please share with your teachers and have them sign-up. They must register by going to https://forms.uark.edu/xfp/form/552. We only have 10 spaces for teachers from Arkansas. All applications must be submitted by April 1, 2022.
This PD opportunity will NOT cost your district any money. Participants will receive an $8,000 stipend, up to $1,200 for supplies, and are able to apply for travel grants to attend conferences.
