Memo Text
The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education is partnering again this summer with Arkansas PBS to deliver quality programming and customized content for students this summer. Season 2 of the popular “Rise and Shine” series will premiere with a group of all-star educators bringing the magic of the classroom straight to your student's home. Scholars can jumpstart their mornings with televised mini-lessons provided by seven Arkansas teachers and a hand-picked selection of educational programming from Arkansas PBS to address essential learning for K-5 students. School districts may distribute the attached flyer to all K-5 families/students to support ongoing learning and to mitigate learning loss over the summer months.
Programming will premiere Tuesday, July 5, 2022 and continue every weekday for six weeks. Grades K-2 will begin daily at 8:30 a.m. Grades 3-5 will start at 9:45 a.m.
Families and students across the state are encouraged to extend learning with "Rise and Shine" Power Packets, free summer activity kits for scholars printed in both English and Spanish. Power Packets are available for download or can be requested to be mailed directly to homes, daycares, summer camps and more at myarpbs.org/riseandshine.
Families or summer programs can tune in to Arkansas PBS, stream at myarpbs.org/watchlive or watch on-demand through the Engage Arkansas PBS app/PBS Video app/streaming devices. See all the ways to watch at myarpbs.org/watch. More information may be found at myarkansaspbs.org/riseandshine.
