Memo Text

The Division of Educator Effectiveness is providing National Board Certification support for educators who teach in underrepresented areas.  Districts with fewer than five National Board Certified Teachers (NBCT) receive priority admission to each of the academies.  Nonqualifying district teachers may apply and receive admission once priority positions have been filled.  A list of qualifying districts may be found here. All related fees and component submissions are covered by each academy.

Application Process

Applications and questions regarding admission should be directed to the academy partners.  Their links and contacts are included below and available on the DESE NBCT page here.

Deadline to apply: August 8, 2022

University of Arkansas Little Rock

The University academy will be offering two options for National Board Certification. Option one will include support for onsite classes equaling 12 graduate hours for non-degree seeking teachers and expenses for component submission. Option two will allow teachers to enter into one of two graduate programs and apply the 12 NBCT hours toward one of those degrees.

BloomBoard, Inc.

Bloomboard will offer support a virtual pre-candidacy micro-credential program, coaching from a National Board Certified educator, access to the National Board ATLAS video library and the price of the National Board Certification registration fee plus submissions for each of the four components.
