The 2022-23 PAEMST awards cycle is officially open for both nominations and applications at Teachers of grades 7-12 who are full-time employees of their school district (public or private), have five years of full-time employment as a teacher, and teach students at least 50% of the instructional time, are eligible to apply. Applications are due February 6, 2023. 

The PAEMST are the highest honors bestowed by the United States government, specifically for K-12 mathematics and science teaching (including computer science and engineering). Recipients of the awards receive $10,000 from the National Science Foundation, a paid trip to Washington, D.C. to attend a series of recognition events and professional development opportunities, a certificate signed by the President of the United States, and an opportunity to build lasting partnerships with colleagues across the nation. 

Nominations can be made by anyone – principals, teachers, parents, students, or members of the public. The following information is required to nominate a teacher: teacher’s name, email address, and school contact information. See the attachments for a nomination certificate and an informational brochure.
