Memo Text

The week of February 6-10, 2023 is National School Counseling Week in Arkansas. At this time, we would like to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within the U.S. school system and how students are positively impacted as a result of what counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students meet their college and career aspirations.

We encourage our citizens to recognize school counselors employed in public and private schools throughout Arkansas for their significant contributions to our children's futures.

To help promote National School Counseling Week, the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) has developed materials and documents, many of which are free. The resources can be accessed at the ASCA website (https://www.schoolcounselor.org/Events-Professional-Development/Events/National-School-Counseling-Week). Please consider utilizing these resources to celebrate school counselors in Arkansas!
