The Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), in collaboration with the Office of Innovation for Education (OIE), will shine a spotlight on highly effective practices, programs, and innovative schools within Arkansas by hosting the fifth Arkansas Student-Focused Study Tour at East Pointe Elementary in the Greenwood School District.

The “tour” will include:

  • An opportunity to preview the great things happening at East Pointe Elementary virtually during a video release on DESE and OIE social media on March 2, 2023.
  • An opportunity for an on-site visit to East Pointe Elementary on April 4, 2023, from 8:30-11:30 (Register here)

East Pointe Elementary is building future leaders through inclusion, collaboration, and building special programs for students. East Pointe has achieved the distinct recognition as being a National Model Professional Learning Community (PLC) School and earned the Highly Effective Schools Accreditation for student learning and growth. Educators at East Pointe Elementary are currently focusing on competency-based learning and inclusive practices. Come to East Pointe to learn about launching and sustaining effective PLCs and how to ensure inclusion for each student.

To register for the on-site visit please register here by March 14, 2023. Please note, space will be limited for the on-site tour. There is no charge to participate. More information on the schools and a detailed agenda will be provided to registered participants by email.
