Memo Text

The Adjusted Cohort Graduation Rates System (ACGRS) will be open from October 30- November 13, 2023. ACGRS allows authorized district staff to validate graduation status for actual graduates that may reflect as non-graduates, remove on-time students who have transferred out, and add actual graduates not submitted during cycle 9 submission.

*New for 2023 - Districts/schools will be able to indicate if a student is on the alternate pathway to graduation and the status of the student. Options for students on the alternate pathway for 2023 include: (a) Student completed graduation requirements for the alternate pathway and is ready to graduate with their original cohort (actual grad) or (b) Student should be placed in “holding” while they complete the pathway, age out due to F.A.P.E., or exits with no credentials (drops out).

All corrections with proper documentation must be completed no later than 5 PM on November 13, 2023. Documentation must be uploaded into ACGRS for each correction. Failure to complete this action will result in an automatic denial. Superintendents must certify data regardless if corrections are made on behalf of the school or district. The U.S. Department of Education’s Non-Regulatory Guidance for High School Graduation Rate will be used to decide whether corrections are allowable.

ACGRS is designed to improve the data quality used to calculate the four-year and five-year adjusted cohort graduation rates at the school, district, and state levels. ACGRS includes two adjusted cohorts of students. 2023 four-year and 2023 five-year adjusted cohorts start with different groups of students, therefore it is essential to review both cohorts carefully. The figure below illustrates which students are included.
