2024 Great North American Solar Eclipse:
ADE has launched a webpage dedicated to the 2024 Great North American Solar Eclipse that includes information for Arkansas public schools and public charter schools. Find out about free solar glasses for all students and teachers, national and local student solar eclipse projects, K-12 science lessons, informational videos, and many of the 2024 solar eclipse public events across the state.

Social Studies:
The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History awards outstanding American history teachers through the National History Teacher of the Year Award. Over 900 outstanding American history teachers at the state and national levels are honored with this award. Full-time K-12 educators teaching American history can be nominated by students, parents, colleagues, or administrators. Nominations must be submitted by April 30, 2024. State winners will be eligible to compete for the national title. The eligibility criteria and nomination link can be found here. The final date for Gilder Lehrman to accept applications is May 31, 2024.

Fine Arts:
STEMinar: STEM to STEAM: Integrating the Arts into STEAM with the Walton Arts Center and Kennedy Center-trained specialists offers free STEAM programming for Arkansas schools. Access virtual engagement activities and an interactive NW Arkansas Arts map with ART LOOK map! Additional professional development about the Arts with Education (AWE) Institute, and SmART residency will also be included. Join the meeting here on April 24th from 3:00 - 4:15.

World Languages:
The spring 2024 online application for the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy is now open. The Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy recognizes Arkansas high school students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages. Since March 2017, 4,777 biliterate Arkansas high school students have earned this recognition. The deadline for student applications is midnight on April 5th. The application can be found here and at ARbiliteracy.org.
