The Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is currently seeking volunteers to serve on standard setting committees for both the Arkansas Teaching and Learning Assessment System (ATLAS) and the Arkansas Educational Support and Accountability Act (AESAA). A standard setting occurs when a statewide assessment or accountability plan is created or revised. Standard setting is a multi-step process where a diverse panel of Arkansas educators establish descriptions of each performance level and make recommendations for the cut scores necessary to be classified into each level.
During the summer and fall of 2024 DESE will host the following standard setting meetings for which volunteers are needed:
