The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is distributing the professional learning community funding to improve academic outcomes. All public schools may apply for the funding to directly support the implementation of Arkansas LEARNS through professional learning communities.
DESE released a Request for Qualifications to identify vendors to provide collaborative educational professional development services to assist districts in Arkansas. Seventeen vendors have been approved. The district may find additional information regarding vendor proposals on the DESE website. Districts who choose not to use an approved vendor, will have to provide additional information regarding use of funding.
Four core areas were identified for vendors to submit proposals that directly support classrooms and educators.
Foundational Literacy/Science of Reading
Strengthening Quality of Instruction
Strengthening Career Pathways
Multi-tiered Systems of Support for Behavioral and Mental Health Services
Once a school district submits an application the professional learning grant will be distributed to the district. Reciept funds using revenue code for Professional Learning Grant 2247 32251.
Applications are due January 31, 2025. Visit the webpage to review the list of qualified vendors and complete the district application.
Districts are encouraged to work with your educational service cooperative to assist in previewing vendors or identifying consortium partners.
