Any public school district with 20 or more children of military families or with 3,000 students in total is required to designate a staff member to serve as District Military Education Coordinator (DMEC).

Any school seeking to become an Arkansas Purple Star School must designate a staff member to serve as School Military Liaison (SML).

The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education has scheduled training sessions for DMECs and SMLs.  All sessions are one hour in length and will be conducted via Zoom.  Attendees need only attend one session.  DMECs and SMLs who have previously attended training may attend if they wish.
