The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE): Office of
Information Technology (OIT) is pleased to announce that for the 2023-2024
school year CRDC data collection, the department/State
Educational Agency (SEA) will assist with some data uploads for LEAs for
the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) process. The data will
be sourced from the Statewide Information System (K-12 Data Warehouse.
SEA timeline for data submissions to CRDC:
Begin: December 20, 2024
End: January 7, 2025
Districts may review data submitted by SEA on January 7, 2024.
Note: SEA does not collect all data required for the CRDC
data collection. Please review the attached spreadsheet for data that SEA
will or will not be able to submit on behalf of the districts.
The attached spreadsheet "SEA 2023-2024 CRDC DATA
COLLECTION SUPPORT SUMMARY.xlsx" includes column "SEA will provide
data. (YES/NO)" that indicate "YES" if data will be submitted by
SEA.

The Civil Rights Data Collection is a mandatory data collection that schools and school districts that receive federal financial assistance from ED are legally obligated to complete.
Section 203(c)(1) of the Department of Education Organization Act conveys to the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights the authority to "collect or coordinate the collection of data necessary to ensure compliance with civil rights laws within the jurisdiction of the Office for Civil Rights." See 20 U.S.C. § 3413(c)(1).
