This project will assist BX3 teams in developing and monitoring at least one SMART goal based on their assessment on the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) aimed at developing positive behavior supports.  Additionally, the BX3 team will create and update an action plan focused on meeting their individualized SMART goal(s). The BSS will offer at least 6 coaching sessions (one per month) for each BX3 team.  Professional learning opportunities will be offered as needed based on the SMART goal(s) and action plan.

Requirements for Participation in the BX3 Project:

  1. Have an established school building-level behavior team that meets at least monthly
  2. Have attended both days of the School-wide Positive Behavior Supports (SWPBS) training offered by Arkansas Behavior Support Specialists (BSS) by Sept 1, 2025.  (all team members are required to attend)  NOTE: Your local BSS can help your team locate upcoming training dates and locations
  3. Have submitted signed "Letter of Understanding" (provided in the application)

Expectations for participation (if selected):

  • Attend a 1-day regional kickoff meeting in September.
  • Develop and monitor progress of at least one SMART goal related to tiered positive behavior supports.
  • Create and update an action plan focused on meeting SMART goal(s).
  • Participate in monthly coaching sessions, starting in October, with Behavior Support Specialists (BSS) in the 2025-26 school year with an option to continue into the following school year(s). The BSS will offer at least 6 coaching sessions (one per month for 2-3 hours) for each BX3 team.  All team members will be expected to attend each monthly coaching session unless other plans are made with BSS coaches.
  • Hold independent monthly behavior team meetings (in addition to coaching sessions with BSS).

Schools that wish to participate in the BX3 project for the 2025-26 school year should submit this application, completed by a building principal, no later than 4:30 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025. Applications will be reviewed and teams will be notified by April 4, 2025, if they are selected to participate in the next step of the application process.  Selected teams will participate in a virtual interview with Arkansas Behavior Support Specialists to clarify BX3 Project goals and discuss how this project aligns with their schools' needs and current initiatives.  School teams selected for participation in the BX3 project will be notified by April 17, 2025, with next steps and additional details.  Cohort 6 will begin in September 2025.
