ADE has been asked to participate in research conducted by psychologist Angela Duckworth regarding phone free schools. We are pleased to support the Phones in Focus initiative, a nationwide effort aimed at providing district leaders with evidence-based recommendations regarding school phone policies.  

We invite school principals and teachers to participate in a brief 5–minute survey, which can be accessed at www.phonesinfocus.org.  This survey is designed to collect data on current and previous cell phone policies and their enforcement within schools. Your participation will assist in identifying best practices that will lead to positive student outcomes. The submission deadline for the survey is April 30, 2025. 

This research is being led by psychologist Angela Duckworth from the University of Pennsylvania and economists Hunt Allcott and Matt Gentzkow from Stanford University. Their expertise will contribute to the development of data-driven policies.
