In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Arkansas Department of Education announces the launch of Arkansas Celebrates America250 (ACA250) website: https://america250.ade.arkansas.gov.
Expedition content will be posted on or before the first of each month to the
Journey Across Arkansas dashboard along with the release of a Commissioner’s Memo with a quick-glance summary. You can find
August’s content here.
ACA250 and the Student Experience Arc
ACA250 commemorates Arkansas’s pivotal role in shaping America by honoring our state’s historic legacy, its vibrant communities, and abundant natural landscapes.
The Student Experience Arc guides learners, educators, and families through a meaningful sequence of Connect, Celebrate, and Contribute to learn from our past, engage with our present, and pave the way for the next generation of Arkansans:
- Connect with our nation’s history by exploring the people, places, and industries in Arkansas that shaped America’s story and preserve its shared heritage.
- Celebrate Arkansas’s unique story through time-honored traditions, enduring values, and artistic expressions that reflect the strength and spirit of our nation.
- Contribute to our state’s future success through enrollment in postsecondary education, pursuit of high-wage, high-demand employment, and enlistment in service to community and country.

Central to the Arkansas Celebrates America250 website are the Arkansas Traveler Expeditions – Arkansas academic standards-aligned, K-16 grade-banded resources for Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM), the Humanities, and Career Technical Education (CTE).
Arkansas Traveler Map: Grades K–16 | Open Access
The journey across Arkansas starts here with self-guided, teacher-friendly lessons that are organized by theme and are flexible for student- or teacher-led instruction. These ready-to-use resources are ideal for virtual, in-person, or hybrid learning.
Arkansas Traveler Compass: Grades K–12 | Open Access

Arkansas Traveler Navigator: Grades K–12 | School Opt-In
Explore, learn, and grow on the journey together with other districts and schools to explore Arkansas’s unique spirit through special opportunities. Participating schools can receive classroom RISE books with planning resources, share in a student-designed ornament display at the State Capitol, and contribute to a collaborative Heritage Tapestry.
Arkansas Traveler Express Pass: Grades 6–12 | Student Opt-In
Show the way and walk the path as every step counts for students to engage with their community through ACA250-related community service.
