Memo Text
The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) has released school letter grades for the 2024-2025 school year.
Accountability Formula
Arkansas’s accountability formula was redesigned in 2025 to provide a clearer and more meaningful picture of Arkansas schools and student learning. For elementary and middle schools, the formula focuses on student achievement and year-to-year growth, and prioritizes the students who are furthest behind with an additional growth measure. For high schools, the formula includes an additional measure focused on whether students are “success ready” graduates prepared to enlist, enroll, or be employed. A list of all 2024-2025 school letter grades may be accessed on the ADE website.
Training and Support Resources
ADE has developed a suite of resources available through the ADE website, including:
- Educator Training Modules: These videos are meant to help educators understand the new accountability formula, including explanations of the business rules, how each indicator is calculated, how to interpret school results, and other information.
- FAQ: This document provides answers to frequently asked questions regarding the new accountability formula.
- Business Rules: This resource contains detailed information on how each indicator is calculated and combined into an overall letter grade.
- Letter Grade Calculator: This resource allows school leaders to calculate their own letter grade using student-level data.
Other Notes
In October 2025, ADE will publish school letter grades and accountability data on the redesigned school report card on Myschoolinfo to promote transparency and assist parents in making informed decisions regarding school choice.
