In preparation for submitting student data for graduates, district leaders, principals, counselors, eSchool Admins and state reporting coordinators should be working together to ensure that student data are entered accurately and timely. Prior to submitting certified cycle data, be sure to verify that each graduating student is marked with the correct graduation year and date to ensure that the correct students are submitted in the district’s graduate file. As a reminder, the graduation date that should be placed in eSchool is the date that the student finishes all requirements for graduation and NOT the date of the ceremony. For graduates and especially summer graduates, be sure that their graduation date is prior to August 15th. The graduation date needs to be marked correctly on the student Academic Screen. A slide deck entitled “Understanding Graduation Rate during COVID-19” is attached to this memo to serve as a quick reference guide. If additional assistance is needed with understanding how graduation rates are calculated, please contact Renee Austin-Banks by email at Renee.Austin-Banks@arkansas.gov or by phone at 501-682-7380 or Alexandra Boyd by email at Alexandra.Boyd@arkansas.gov or by phone at 501-313-8410. If additional assistance is needed with entering student data, please contact the district’s co-op APSCN Field Analyst or the APSCN help desk.
