Memo Text

The Assessment Correction Engine (ACE) interface will be available to all districts from August 9 through August 20 at the following link: https://adedata.arkansas.gov/

Scroll down to the “ADE Systems of Support” tiles, then toward the bottom of the page, click on “Assessment Correction Engine” on the “Systems of Accountability: ESSA” tile. The ADE Data Center will direct users to log in. District or School Level users should use their TRIAND login credentials to log in.

We expect every school district to check its data.

Districts are strongly encouraged to review the percent tested information and enter any needed Reason Not Tested (RNT) codes and documentation as early as possible. Recently Arrived English Learner (RAEL) status or first year in the United States may be reviewed and edited. If editing status to indicate a student is a Recently Arrived English Learner, be prepared to enter/update the student’s entry date in eSchoolPlus. Only data for the 2020-2021 school year can be changed.

All data corrections must be supported by evidence in the form of documentation uploaded through the ACE interface. The RNT list with required documentation for ACE is attached to this memo. Information about cross walking special circumstances codes, exit codes from the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) Alternate Assessment System to Reasons Not Tested, and the ACE user guide are attached.

After RNT codes and documentation have been entered, the district superintendent must use their TRIAND username and password to access the ACE home screen to submit corrections. Superintendents will click the blue Submit Corrections button near the bottom of the home screen. Then will fill out the required fields in the District Submission page along with downloading the Superintendent Certification Form. This form must be signed and uploaded by the district superintendent. For questions about TRIAND login and levels of access, please contact your TRIAND administrator.

The resulting post-appeal accountability information will become part of the data incorporated in the accountability plan required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) which reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). DESE will use the data in the ESSA School Index, School Performance Report Card and Rewards/Recognition calculations. Please use this time to make sure the data are accurate.

All corrections, including all required documentation, must be entered no later than 5:00 p.m., August 20, 2021.

Questions concerning ESEA data corrections may be emailed to ade.schmail@ade.arkansas.gov. Support calls may be made to the School Performance Unit of Public School Accountability at (501) 682-7339.
