The Assessment Correction Engine (ACE) interface
will be available to all districts from August 8 through August 22 at the ADE Data
Center. Districts MUST
use ACE to certify assessment data and MAY
submit documentation to remove eligible students from their denominator for
expected to test. All data must be certified by the district superintendent no
later than 5:00 p.m., August 22, 2022.
The School Performance Unit will provide two
“ACE”-ing Test Corrections sessions for district and school-level staff on August 1st at 1:00 PM and August 3rd at 9:00 AM. Register now using the
links provided.
Superintendents must log in to CERTIFY their district’s data. However,
the superintendent may designate someone to make corrections on their behalf.
Districts are strongly encouraged to review their participation rate data
(percent tested) and enter any needed Reason Not Tested (RNT) codes and
documentation as early as possible. Only data for the 2021-2022 school year can
be changed.
The resulting post-appeal accountability
information will become part of the data incorporated in the accountability
plan required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). DESE will use the data
in the ESSA School Index, School Performance Report Card, and
Rewards/Recognition calculations. Please use this time to make sure the data
are accurate.
Contact the School Performance Unit at ade.schmail@ade.arkansas.gov
or (501) 682-7339 for more information regarding assessment corrections.
The
2023 Business Rules for Calculating ESSA School Index Scores have been
finalized following a draft release and a peer review period. An additional
section of information about the Alternate Pathway to Graduation was added,
which applies beginning with the graduating class of 2023. Other stakeholder
feedback was considered and minor edits were made accordingly. The Business
Rules should be used to inform districts how ESSA School Index Scores are
calculated for All Students and subgroups of students.
For
more information on changes to the 2023 ESSA Business Rules, see COM-23-001.
