Memo Text

DESE has launched the Roster Verification System (RVS) in LEA Insights to ensure teachers and administrators are confident teachers of tested subject areas and grade levels are linked to the growth scores of students for whom they provided instruction.

Teachers and administrators will be able to log in to RVS at http://insight.ade.arkansas.gov using their state active directory credentials (APSCN ID and password). RVS is in LEA Insights under “Master Schedule.” Teachers and administrators are required to log-in before April 11 and will have view access only until verification begins.

Verification will occur between April 12-May 17, 2024, and begins with teachers who are responsible for instruction of any of the following academic standards during the 23-24 school year:

  • 3-10 grade ELA
  •  3-8 grade math, algebra, geometry
  •  4-8 grade science, biology
  •

After teachers verify their rosters, principals will verify all teacher rosters within their building. Finally, the district superintendent will verify all schools within the district.

Teachers and administrators will be able to log in at http://insight.ade.arkansas.gov using their state active directory credentials (APSCN ID and password).

 Arkansas’s Value-Added Growth Model

Arkansas’s value-added growth model is designed to answer the question, “How much did my student grow this year compared to how much we thought he/she would grow based on what we know about his/her achievement in prior years (the student’s score history)?”

Arkansas’s value-added growth model uses students’ prior score history to control for factors for which a school or teacher cannot control—students’ prior learning and the demographics of their student population.

Measuring students’ growth in achievement reinforces the idea that all students can learn and can demonstrate expected learning regardless of where they are on the achievement continuum.

A teacher’s growth score is the average of his/her students’ growth scores.

The teacher/student links verified in RVS will be used to populate the Teacher Value-Added Modules in LEA Insights, which provide visualizations to support local efforts to improve teaching and learning for all students (See CM LIC-24-004).
